Golf Travel Starts from Russia 
A new form of luxury tourism has been slowly growing in Russia, Golf Travel. Whilst Russia only has 2 courses the number of Russians that are taking to golf has been increasing. There are now an estimated 3,000 golf enthusiasts in Russia and this segment of the market is starting. The Moscow Golf & Luxury Travel Workshop and Reception clearly demonstrated the interest in this sport and the level of potential clients. "There is a growing interest in Golf, especially in Moscow where more and more people are staring to play. Slowly golfers are starting to demand specialised assistance in the planning of their golf trips abroad. There has been quite a lot of promotion, especially from National Tourist Offices, however the lack of professional golf travel agencies in Russia have hampered this group. Now at last an Austrian-Russian company has appreciated this market by producing Russia's first golf travel brochure and by organising several special golf group departures" states Svetlana Andryukina from Forward PR.

Moscow is now hosting some major tournaments and the awareness of the sport is increasing. Even Moldova has a large project, we wish them especially great success. Maybe Russia will also become a golf destination in the future, but the Golf Travel market has already started.
